20 Acre Farm ¶

- Price
- USD $ 198,000
Very nice, well-priced and affordable small farm of approximately 20 acres (8 hectares) located 20 minutes from the city of David, capital of Chiriqui province. There are about 500 lemon trees on the property currently, plus yucca trees, the products of which are sold as cash crops. There are also many mature teak, cedar and tropical hardwood trees. The property has a very pretty river running through it, as well as a caretaker's house and drilled well. The location is excellent, along the coastal plain within easy driving distance of the second largest city in Panama and the regional airport. A good paved road is about 50 meters from the entrance to the property.
This would be an excellent investment for someone who wants to operate a small farm producing cash crops. There are several steel framed greenhouses, although they have not been well-maintainced and require refurbishing. The caretaker's house is basic, but is solid and could be turned into a nice owner's house with a little work.
In other words, this is an excellent little farm with great potential at a very attractive price.

Highland Coffee Farm¶

- Allen Rosen
- Chiriqui
- Price
- USD $ 1,890,000
Great coffee farm in a spectacular natural setting. This is a 68 hectare (170 acre) titled coffee farm in the western highlands of Panama near Volcan. There are currently 24 hectares (60 acres) of mature coffee plants draped on fertile hillsides, shaded by tall pines. The remainder of the farm is used for cattle grazing, although much of it could also be planted with coffee.
The coffee is high-quality, export-grade that fetches a good price on the wholesale market.
This is a profitable business with excellent potential, particularly for a buyer who has the marketing acumen to sell directly to coffee companies in North America or Europe.
Some of the best and most expensive coffees in the world now come from Panama -- for example, Geisha from another highland farm in Chiriqui province, which most recently sold for $170 per pound on the wholesale market, the highest price in the world, giving highland Panamanian coffees extra cache on the world market.
Along with the coffee, what makes this farm very special is the beauty of the property and surrounding region, plus the river that borders the property on one side, and the stunning landscaping of the area around the main house -- manicured lawns, ponds with waterfalls, and a mature pine forest.
This is a unique property.
The owners have operated the farm for decades but are now elderly and are no longer able to run the farm on a day-to-day basis. Their children have grown up and moved to Panama City to pursue different careers. Since their children do not want to continue in the coffee business, the owners are forced to sell the property.
If you are interested in buying a coffee plantation, you owe it to yourself to look at this spectacular property, which is located 5 miles from the town of Volcan, and about 1 hour from the provincial capital David, where there is an airport with international connections and all the shopping you will ever need.

Dairy Farm -- Development Property¶
- Agent
- Allen Rosen
- Chiriqui
- Price
- USD $ 1,800,000
Remarkably attractive and well-kept dairy farm with 62 hectares (155 acres) near Potrerillos in Chiriqui province. The property comes with an owner's home and out-buildings. The asking price for the land and buildings is $1,800,000.
The owners, who wish to retire, will sell the dairy cattle, all farm equipment, including tractors and milking machines, plus contracts and licenses to sell Grade "A" milk to a local dairy, for an additional $200,000. This is a turnkey operation. At present the owner has 104 dairy cattle on the farm, of which he is milking 60-90 at any given time. Average production per cow is very high for Panama -- 22 liters per day. The farm currently produces income of $15,000 per month.
Panama has a shortage of domestically produced dairy products. 50% of all milk sold in the country is imported, and the government has several programs to encourage dairy production, including low interest loans to buy cattle. Milk prices are good. This is a profitable business in Panama.
The farm is also very beautiful, with outstanding ocean and mountain views, a lovely river and waterfall. This property has excellent potential both as a dairy operation and a development property where an enterprising buyer could combine a working farm with a project selling small hobby farms and riverfront lots within the larger property.
The climate in this area is also perfect, cooler than the coastal plain, but warmer than highland areas such as Boquete or Volcan. No need for heating or air-conditioning.
The property is a kilometer or so from a newly paved road, and 30 minutes from the city of David, where there is an airport and plenty of stores selling everything you need.

Hobby Farm in Las Lajas¶
- Agent
- Allen Rosen
- San Lorenzo
- Chiriqui
- Price
- USD $ 150,000
This titled property is an attractive three hectare (7.5 acres) parcel of land just inside the town of Las Lajas in Chiriqui province. The town of Las Lajas is a quaint, quiet and sleepy little place fifteen minutes from one of the best beaches in Panama and less than an hour from the provincial capital David, where there is an airport and all the stores you will even need for shopping. The town of San Felix is also nearby, where there is a small hospital and many stores.
The property has mature shade trees, flat pasture, a creek running along the rear boundary, and would be perfect for a small, hobby farm, with plenty of room to build a home and raise a few horses or cows, sheep or goats.
Priced at slightly under $5 per meter, the property is very affordable.
